May 1, 2012 · Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519) is the epitome of a Renaissance man ( 1 – 3 ). He created exceptional art. He had an immensely imaginative, enquiring mind. His ideas and inventions were often centuries ahead of others. Calling him a scientist might be inaccurate, but he certainly was one of the greatest dreamer-inventors of all times.

The location of the monumental painting, at times referred to as "The Lost Leonardo," remains a mystery.The Adoration of the Magi is an early painting by Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo was given the commission by the Augustinian monks of San Donato a Scopeto in Florence, but he departed for Milan the following year, leaving the painting unfinished.
